September 2015

In September, Bryan and I took advantage of a morning when he was off and both girls were in school to hike the Kealia Trail.

The start of college football made for some early mornings cheering on our Dawgs.

We enjoy taking advantage of using the Hale Koa resort located in Waikiki.  We spent a full day there with our friends bouncing back and forth from the beach to the pool.

Marlie participated in a golf clinic at Leilehua Golf Course, which is the local military course.

We got to enjoy a rainbow while having dinner from some food trucks.

We went to an event called Sunday Funday at the Ward Warehouse in Honolulu.  The girls got to make prints, we watched a breakdancing contest (only in Hawaii do they breakdance in "slippahs"), and then got stuck in notorious Honolulu traffic.

Marlie's 8th Birthday

Somehow I now have an 8 year old!  Marlie turned 8 at the end of August and we celebrated with lots of friends.  I took a group of girls to do karaoke and they were so cute singing their little hearts out.

After we returned from karaoke, some of the boys in the neighborhood and all the kids parents joined us for brownies and ice cream.  Even though I offered to make her a cake, Marlie insisted on brownies which was even easier on me.

I'm so proud of my big 8 year old after going through another move this year and all the changes that come with it.  She is the epitome of a resilient military kid.
